Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are two French brothers and designers, born in 1971 and 1976 respectively. Based in Paris, they have been working as a team in their own design studio since 1999. Their work is the result of distinct personalities, but also shared intention to reach more balance and fineness through a strong notion of diligence. Covering many fields, from architecture, to jewellery, industrial design and drawings, they have worked with many international manufacturers such as Artek, Cappellini, Established & Sons, Flos, Hay, and Vitra.

Born in Quimper, France, the Bouroullec brothers studied at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and at the École des Beaux-Arts in Cergy-Pontoise, before being discovered by Capellini in 1997. After opening their own Parisian design studio in 1999, they have gone on to work with many international manufacturers, and exhibit in selected museums’ permanent collections, from the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. While their primary focus is the design and organisation of interior space, their work also includes small utilitarian objects, drawings, photography, or more experimental projects often exhibited at Gallery Kreo. Officina and Palissade are their most recent collections, both available at SCP.
