Piet Hein Eek studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven, and it is thanks to his graduation project ‘Scrapwood Creations’ that he was noticed by the design industry. Focusing his business around the idea of re-used materials, he established his own studio in 1992 in Eindhoven, which now serves as a studio, factory space, showroom, gallery, and restaurant.
For the SCP 2019 Collection, he designed ‘Home’, a collection of upholstery that finds expression through a curving oak frame. Upholstered entirely by hand, this collection has elegant contours, a low profile and an ageless feel.
