From the 25 November to Christmas, we’re teaming up with Niwaki to host a pop-up shop at our showroom in Shoreditch. The shop will feature a wide range of refined and practical Japanese designs from gardening tools to household accessories. Every Saturday during the pop-up, a Niwaki tool expert will be on hand to demonstrate and advice on the best technique for sharpening your tools.
No booking required, come by any time Tues-Sat, 9:30am-6pm.
All workshops are hosted in Collaboration with Niwaki. Please note that workshop places are limited.

Learn the art of Japanese flower arranging with Ruriko as she guides you through the key principles of Ikebana. In the workshop, you will use an extra-large Niwaki Kenzan to create designs inspired by tradition with an emphasis on seasonal plants, natural growth processes and the beauty of natural environments.
At the end of the session, you will be given a mini Kenzan to take home, along with the flora used during the workshop. The extra-large Kenzan used (RRP: £42) will be available to purchase with a 15% discount applied.

Shimenawa decorations are traditional Japanese New Year’s rope decorations, often made from rice straw, which are hung on the doors of homes, restaurants and other establishments. They serve to ward off evil spirits and invite good luck and prosperity. Shimekazari are a significant part of Japanese New Year customs, symbolising the transition from the old year to the new one, with the hope for a prosperous year ahead.
In this workshop, Mariko will teach you how to make Shimenawa rope using raffia to create a festive door wreath to welcome guests and – perhaps –ward off any unwelcome spirits. The wreath will be yours to take home and enjoy.
