SCP is pleased to present a showcase of upholstery and furniture at 44 Spazio, George Sowden’s showroom in Milan. The show includes new pieces as well as existing designs, with all upholstery made exclusively in sustainable and natural materials.

The Boxed Collection
Initially launched to critical acclaim in 2009, the SCP Boxed Collection invited designers to develop smaller pieces, based on the maximum size of a DHL international shipping box (480 x 400 x 390 mm). Or more loosely, a design that can fit in a box that you can carry out of the store (or more commonly these days – ship easily via ecommerce).
For 2025, SCP is inviting a number of designers to relook at the same Boxed Collection brief. With both established designers, and a host of emerging design talent, undertaking the brief. They are not restricted by material and the expectation is that a range of different product typologies will be created.
Designers include, Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, Pierre Charpin, Oscar Coakley, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Alexandra Gerber, Matthew Hilton, Philippe Malouin, Michael Marriott, Andu Masebo, Jasper Morrison, Elliot Payne, Julie Richoz, George Sowden, Ted Synnott, Jonah Takagi, and Donna Wilson.
The first selection of The Boxed Collection will launch during Milan Design Week 2025.
SCP 2025 Collection
For over ten years, SCP has put a strong focus on developing fully sustainable upholstery designs, and in 2023, for the first time ever, SCP launched a foam-free upholstery collection. This has been made possible by the fact that SCP vertically integrated its specialist upholstery factory, which is based in Norfolk, over 20 years ago – in 2003. This has allowed the company to gradually develop the factory into one of the leading proponents of sustainable upholstery making anywhere in the UK.
For 2025, SCP is set to continue this strong thread of sustainable product development, with the launch of a dedicated collection of new upholstery. During Milan Design Week in April, SCP will launch a new armchair by Matthew Hilton and sofa system by Terence Woodgate. These will be shown alongside Philippe Malouin’s Group sofa and cocktail chair, which are part of SCP’s permanent collection.
Armchair by Matthew Hilton
A fully upholstered armchair with loose lines and a laid-back aesthetic, Hilton utilised SCP’s specialist factory to create an exceptionally lightweight, comfortable and durable design.
Overlap by Terence Woodgate
A modular system where each element, be it seat, arm or back have a relationship in which one overlaps the other.
Group by Philippe Malouin
A classic SCP collection, Group is a complimentary family of upholstery product typologies, all of which use primary shapes in a concise way to form the base, back and seat of each piece.
Truly Natural Always
SCP are proud to present a ground-breaking collection of entirely foam free upholstery designs, a culmination of over a decade of innovative research into sustainable materials. Foam, being petrochemical based, is the key unsustainable material in modern upholstery, and at SCP we believe it has to be removed from products to ensure they are truly sustainable.
SCP now uses a range of natural materials in the upholstery process as a replacement for foam. Utilising alternatives including rubberised coconut fibre, engineered wools, natural latex and feathers. SCP’s exhibition in Milan will spotlight the materials and manufacturing techniques that SCP has developed in order to achieve these credentials.
