After graduating from Central Saint Martins, Reiko designed a range of products that were manufactured around the world. However it was the joy of working with the ceramicists of The Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent, and tapping into over two centuries of knowledge in fine bone china production that led her to concentrate on ceramics.
Reiko spent her childhood in Japan and still makes frequent visits. Japan has not only been an inspiration for the elegant simplicity to which she strives, but the key to her appreciation of craft and craftsmanship.
SCP present new ceramics and the Orlando two seat sofa by Reiko Kaneko. The ceramics are made in Reiko’s London-based studio, where she crafts one-off pieces and limited-edition ceramics.
The exhibition will be on view until 30 November.

As part of the exhibition, SCP present Botanic, an exclusive tableware collection by Reiko Kaneko. The collection is inspired by Reiko’s studio garden in London and the joy of making in an environment conducive to creativity. The new pieces are studies of nature, Reiko sketches in glaze colours, uses leaves as brushes and paints with white glaze on black ceramics. The pieces are then fired in Reiko’s garden kiln in London.
