What a week. Nine days. Over sixty participants and an array of new product launches, immersive exhibitions, interactive installations, workshops, talks and active working spaces. We’re tired just saying that sentence. And while the London Design Festival might be over for another year, we can’t help but reminisce about the incredible events that made up the Shoreditch Design Triangle, including our own show: Piet Hein Eek & SCP Forever.
It’s safe to say this year has been our most successful yet – which couldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for all the wonderful participants who took part. Each store, restaurant, gallery and pop-up created an amazing array of exhibitions, events, talks and launches. And by doing so, made our East End district one of the most exciting and talked about places to be during the Design Festival. So a big thank you to everyone who took part and to those of you who visited and explored the triangle.
That’s all folks. Thank you, good evening and good night.
Encore you say? While we can’t magic the week back (if only) we can relive some of the highlights – from Asif Khan’s pop-up plant pods to Lee Broom’s trompe l’oeil wizardry through to Kvadrat’s terrific textiles and our Piet Hein Eek design talk hosted by the Design Museum’s Deyan Sudjic. And that’s not mentioning Tuesday’s late night event, which saw Shoreditch light up with DJs, drinks and design aficionados aplenty.
