An Evening with Matthew Hilton

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic Balzac for SCP armchair, join renowned furniture designer Matthew Hilton for a Q&A session with Max Fraser on Thursday 15 September from 6 – 8pm at Heal’s Tottenham Court Road.

One of Britain’s most highly respected furniture designers, Matthew Hilton creates pieces with an elegant simplicity that belies their complex engineering, each rigorously functional, exquisitely detailed and built to last. Throughout the evening a skilled craftsperson from SCP will be making one of the legendary armchairs, giving customers an exclusive insight into the construction process of this iconic piece of furniture.

Tickets for this event are £13.25 per person and include refreshments and a goody bag on the night.

The Balzac designed by Matthew Hilton, is an iconic early 90s design with genuine poise and balance.

Balzac uses a double saddle-stitch on the arms to create the perfect curve. It is featured in Taschen’s 1000 chairs, widely used in advertising and considered by many as the final word in club chairs. A true modern classic, it’s also available as a two and three seat sofa. Made to order in the Norfolk, England in a wide range of other fabrics and leathers.
