The London Design Festival is nearly upon us. Here’s a look at whats happening at and around SCP between the 19th and 27th of September.

SCP Editions

SCP present a range of thirty year SCP Editions, a collection of products made in small batches using unconventional or specialist manufacturing techniques. These products acknowledge the history that SCP has of working with those who are perhaps closer to being artists than designers, and the interplay between the two disciplines which has been in evidence throughout time.

SCP Editions from Sarah Kay, Alex Hellum, Reiko Kaneko, Peter Marigold, Michael Marriott, Andrea Stemmer, Donna Wilson and Oscar Coakley.

SCP A/W Collection 2015

Presenting new designs for the SCP A/W 2015 Collection.

The collection comprises a wood and steel shelving system by Faudet-Harrison, a range of fine bone china lights by Reiko Kaneko and a circular upholstered bench by Donna Wilson (as shown).

SCP Classics with Roll & Hill

A special presentation at SCP West of the newly launched SCP Classics collection in combination with New York based lighting brand Roll & Hill.

Roll & Hill

New York based manufacturer Roll & Hill have firmly established themselves as the leading American contemporary lighting brand. Their reputation is founded on a collection of lights that use high-quality materials, experimental ideas and a touch of aesthetic nonconformity. On show are lighting by Philippe Malouin, Lindsey Adelman, Bec Brittain, Lukas Peet and Jason Miller.

SCP Classics

To celebrate 30 years, SCP have launched SCP Classics, a new collection of designs re-issued from the SCP archive. SCP have chosen the most coveted products from the archive and invited the designers to re-visit each product. Some remain unchanged from the original and some have been updated with new materials, finishes or dimensions. Designs from Jasper Morrison, Matthew Hilton, Konstantin Grcic, Terence Woodgate, James Irvine and Rachel Whiteread.

Free Bread Workshop

With The Bread Companion

The Bread Companion is a nomadic micro bakery that travels around baking and teaching about good quality bread.

For three dates during the London Design Festival 2015, The Bread Companion will pitch outside SCP East to run free, drop in bread making workshops.

Workshops will be running throughout the day taking you through dough basics in just 20 minutes. Stop by, stay as long you like, get your hands doughy, learn about bread proportions and the ingredients you’ll need for making great bread, take away some recipes and bake your own yoghurty flat breads in The Bread Companion’s mobile, wood fired oven.

A selection of sourdough loaves and sweet treats will also be available to buy.

The workshops and flatbreads are free, but a small donation is appreciated.

No booking necessary (but tell us you’re stopping by if you like!)
