Our warehouse team have been very busy this week and have delivered to both SCP East and SCP West an excellent selection of ex-display upholstery, furniture and lighting in store this week. With discounts of up to 50%, it’s worth taking a look around.
This ex-display Eadie armchair was launched during London Design Festival 2009 at Liberty’s ‘Britain Can Still make it’ exhibition, a celebration of British made furniture. Like all of SCP’s upholstery, is made in our UK factory from a solid beech and plywood frame, jute webbing and hessian straps. In replacement of petrochemical Colors such as foam, our upholsterers use a mix of sustainable Colors that include natural fibres, horse hair and wool to cover the frame. Eadie has a large full feather upholstered cushion that sits neatly within the rounded frame. The back of the frame gently arcs, creating a crescent shape to make the chair more accommodating whilst keeping a low profile. Now £1,131.00 – Was £2,828.00.
Made from a solid beech frame with steel springs and elasticated webbing covered in multi-density foam with feather cushions and American oak legs. Available in various sizes. Made in the UK. Now £1,845.00 – Was £3,690.00.
The Daybed by Rachel Whiteread was originally designed as part of the Please Touch exhibition at SCP in 1999, a show of furniture pieces by contemporary artists. The piece is closely related to a group of sculptures that Whiteread made in the early 1990s in rubber and plaster, which explored the space underneath a single bed. Daybed is made from a solid beech frame with multi-density foams. Upholstered in a selected colour range of Bute Tiree. Made in Norfolk, UK. Now £3,300.00 – Was £4,125.00.
A design that brings the original 1970s bean bag idea right up to date. Made with 100% pure knitted wool with a fully removable cover. It is constructed with an inner cotton bag filled with polystyrene beads. This design is the ultimate in occasional seating, exceptionally comfortable and notably soft due to the use of pure wool. Now £536.50 – Was £765.00.
Donna Wilson has come up with a playful response to the problem of occasional seating with a range of three low lying pouffes. Each pouffe is made from a Calico bag filled with recycled polyester fibre. They are upholstered with panels, reminiscent of orange segments. Now £266.00 – Was £380.00.
The Parnham School trained duo Kay+Stemmer have designed a new version of the popular freestanding shelves Agnes. Agnes long is a low 2-shelf elongated version of the design, ideal for longer wall spaces, or as a room dividing piece. The Agnes long shelves come “out of the box” as solid one piece items, with no assembly required. The design has the hallmarks of classical furniture-making training; details include radius edges, a gentle upwards taper and perfect proportion. The result is a notably softened looking design, one which retains it’s aesthetic beauty from whichever angle you look at it. Now £605.50 – Was £865.00.
The seat is made using a 15th century crafts process where leather is moulded andhardened through the careful application of moisture and heat, resulting in a semi-structural material. Slight variations in tone and shape evidence the crafted nature of this item. The steel legs have been polished to a mirror finish before immersion in an electrically charged solution that deposits a thin film of brass onto the surface. The footrest is made from powder-coated cast aluminium. The brass legs are lacquered to prevent dulling. Now £346.50 – Was £495.00.
A table with a curvaceous organically shaped base and top. It is made entirely from powder-coated steel and is available in three colours: light grey, navy and orange. This design successfullyblends refined detailing in construction with a lack of formal reference to shape. Beautifully practical. Made in Norfolk, England. Now £115.50 – Was £165.00.
The CSYS floor light marries the latest technology with sleek design. It is designed with innovative positioning, refined thermal management and electronics systems producing a bright warm white colour with astonishing efficiency. The thermal management heat pipe technology cools the LED to ensure peak performance from the LED for 37+ years. Now £556.50 – Was £795.00.
Bell is a dome suspended over a dome formed of chrome plated pressed steel. The ultra-polished, reflective surface allows Bell to take on, chameleon- like, the characteristics and colours of its surroundings – continuing our obsession with hyper mirrored surfaces. Now £294.00 – Was £420.00.
