Milan 2014 Review | Part 1 | HAY
HAY, and the more recent London-based incarnation WRONG FOR HAY, are long-time friends of SCP. The UK launch of the first ever HAY collection was at SCP East way back in 2005. Now nearly 10 years old, HAY launched the collaboration WRONG FOR HAY in 2013. The new brand is a collaboration with Sebastian Wrong, and their combined Milan presentation saw the continued development of an all encompassing lifestyle brand, one that creates a wide range of furniture, lighting and accessories.
Centrally located, in the heart of the Brera District, their show spread over two floors of a classic Milanese studio space. The environment was well-curated and allowed you to see both product in isolation and in neat room sets.
Awash with colour and light, the show had some particularly good new products. Favourites from WRONG FOR HAY include the Hackney Sofa by WH, the Rope Trick Light by Stefan Diez, the Stanley Stool & Table by Faudet Harrison and the Nathalie Textiles by Nathalie Du Pasqier. The HAY NEW ORDER shelving system by Stefan Diez was also a success.
The clever addition of a “Mini Market” that utilised the NEW ORDER shelving was a nice touch, and it was doing a roaring trade of the day we visited.
