Fort Standard are a young, Brooklyn-based design outfit; they work by hand in their own dedicated workshop. Pretty cool guys, as this video demonstrates perfectly.
The Fort Standard boys, aka Gregory Buntain and Ian Collings describe their work as “a fusion of craft-based backgrounds and a progressive design approach which pairs timeless materials with modern day process.”
So it’s no surprise that they have come up with these brilliantly simple, yet oh-so-pleasing wooden blocks. The embodiment of ‘less is more’, the hardwood blocks come in bright colours or white, and can be stacked and balanced any which way you like. They come in a cotton drawstring bag with a striking graphic print.
Why didn’t we think of this? Sigh.
